Diana Winston
How to Effectively Engage People through Mindful Leadership
Diana Winston is the Director of Mindfulness Education at UCLA's Mindful Awareness Research Center (MARC) and the co-author, with Susan Smalley PhD, of Fully Present, the Science, Art and Practice of Mindfulness. She has taught mindfulness for health and well-being since 1993 in a variety of settings including hospitals, universities, corporations, non-profits, and schools in the US and Asia. Through her work at UCLA she developed the evidence-based Mindful Awareness Practices (MAPs) curriculum and the Training in Mindfulness Facilitation (TMF), which trains mindfulness teachers worldwide. Her work has been mentioned in the New York Times, O Magazine, Newsweek, the Los Angeles Times, Allure, Women’s Health, and in a variety of magazines, books, and journals. The LA Times calls her “one of the nation’s best-known teachers of mindfulness.”

Melli O’Brien is an internationally accredited meditation and yoga teacher who specializes in ‘immersion’ mindfulness retreats. Known for her down-to-earth, engaging and authentic teaching, she has guided thousands of people through her popular retreats and courses.

Tere Abdala- Romano
How to Lead with Mindfulness and build a Conscious Business
Tere came from Mexico City 14 years ago with her three young children and late husband where she learned Tibetan Buddhism and practiced meditation. Here she became Trudy Goodman's student which complemented her Catholic upbringing and her husband's Jewish heritage, broadening her capacity for understanding and compassion for others. Inspired to help, she left behind both her MBA and also her geographer BS degrees to devote herself to her family, her personal growth and the study and practice of mindfulness. She became a dedicated practitioner at InsightLA before joining the Teacher Development Program. She graduated from Spirit Rock's Community Dharma Leadership program as well as the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Practicum, and other diverse mindfulness programs like The Fearless Compassionate Care Training, etc. She is also a Cultivating Emotional Balance certified teacher. Her self-inquiry search through psychoanalysis has strengthen her mindfulness journey as well as her creativity as a visual artist. Her main interest is to bring mindfulness to spanish-speaking communities throughout Los Angeles. She currently serves on the Board of Directors at InsightLA, is the president of a large company in Mexico City where she is bringing mindfulness and introducing conscious business practices with the firm belief that it will benefit many people's lives and could start changing the way businesses are led in Mexico. Tere teaches Basics of Mindfulness in Spanish, one day workshops and daylong retreats.
