Dan Harris

How to wake up 10% Happier and be more engaged

Dan Harris is co-anchor of both Nightline and the weekend edition of Good Morning America on ABC News. Before that, he was the anchor of the Sunday edition of World News. He regularly contributes stories for such shows as Nightline, 20/20, World News with David Muir and the weekday edition of GMA.

Harris has reported from all over the planet, covering wars in Afghanistan, Israel/Palestine and Iraq, and producing investigative reports in Haiti, Cambodia, and the Congo. He has also spent many years covering America's faith scene, with a focus on evangelicals.

After having a nationally televised panic attack on Good Morning America, Dan found meditation and then wrote  10% Happier, as a way to convince fellow skeptics to give the practice a shot.

Dan has been at ABC News for 15 years. Before that, he was in local news in Boston and Maine. He grew up outside of Boston and currently lives with his wife, Bianca, and baby boy, Alexander, in New York City.

Jacqueline Carter and Loren Shuster

Mindful Leadership in Action

Jacqueline has over 20 years of experience working with organizations to enhance effectiveness and improve performance. She is also a long-standing mindfulness practitioner and a Partner and the North American Director for Potential Project – a leading global provider of corporate based mindfulness solutions.

She works with forward thinking organizations to improve focus, clarity, and results through training the mind. Her clients include: Cisco, Accenture, Google, LVMH, KPMG and the Royal Bank of Canada to name a few. Jacqueline is coauthor of “One Second Ahead – Enhance Your Performance at Work with Mindfulness” published by Palgrave Macmillan in November 2015. She is currently working on a mindful leadership book in partnership with Harvard Business Press that will be published in March 2018.

Jacqueline holds a master’s degree in organizational behavior and worked with Deloitte consulting for many years in their Change Leadership Practice. Jacqueline has lived and worked in Canada, the United States, Australia and Singapore.


Loren Shuster joined the LEGO Group in 2015 as Chief Commercial Officer. Loren has extensive experiences in sales, marketing and general management. He has led the expansion of global businesses into emerging markets and has been a core driver in building digital capabilities across multiple industries. Loren is an active profession and life coach and has introduced and developed coaching programs in his previous roles. He is deeply interested in the intersection of wellness and corporate life, is very interested in mindfulness and leadership and has been a regular speaker at Universities, corporate and leadership events. Loren is an avid runner and yoga practitioner.

Kathrin O'Sullivan

Kathrin O'Sullivan is the Head of Cross-Functional Leadership Development at Google.  She leads a team of people who help Googlers exercise leadership to transform themselves, Google, and the world.

In her career, she has enjoyed working in different leadership positions across HR, Sales, Operations, and Business Development. She strives to facilitate an environment to help people become more self aware and clear about their values and goals, and to design strategies and practices that lead to self-excellence. Kathrin was a featured presenter at Emerging Women Live Conference.

Janice Marturano and Joe Ens

How to Re-invent your Leadership with Mindfulness and Compassion 

Janice Marturano is the Founder and Executive Director of the Institute for Mindful Leadership, a non-profit organization dedicated to training and supporting leaders in the exploration of mindfulness and the fundamentals of leadership excellence. She founded the Institute for Mindful Leadership in January, 2011, after her 15 year tenure as a senior corporate executive at General Mills, Inc.

In 2013, she was invited to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland to share her understanding of the importance of mindful leadership. She spoke again at the 2014 World Economic Forum Conference in Tianjin, China.


Joe Ens is the vice president of marketing at General Mills, where he leads the grain snacks business unit, which includes the Nature Valley and Fiber One Bar franchises.

Born and raised in Toronto, Joe joined General Mills’ Canadian head office in 1996, holding various marketing positions involving fruit and grain snacks, kid and adult cereals, and Betty Crocker desserts. He transferred to the world headquarters in Minneapolis in 2002, managing businesses including snacks growth channels and the Cheerios franchise, before being promoted to business unit director of kid cereals. Joe was then promoted to vice president of marketing to lead the away from home business, which includes convenience and food service channels. He has worked in all three of the General Mills segments: international, U.S. retail, and away from home.

Joe completed both his undergraduate and post-graduate studies in Canada (University of Western Ontario and York University, respectively) and, like many proud Canadians, is an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He is married with two daughters.

Daniel Goleman

Developing Critical Leadership Skills as a Mindful Leader

Co-director, Consortium for Research on Emotional Intelligence in Organizations and Author, Emotional Intelligence

Daniel Goleman is an internationally known psychologist who lectures frequently to professional groups, business audiences, and on college campuses. As a science journalist Goleman reported on the brain and behavioral sciences for The New York Times for many years. His 1995 book, Emotional Intelligence was on The New York Times bestseller list for a year-and-a-half, with more than 5,000,000 copies in print worldwide in 40 languages, and has been a best seller in many countries. Apart from his books on emotional intelligence, Goleman has written books on topics including self-deception, creativity, transparency, meditation, social and emotional learning, ecoliteracy and the ecological crisis.

Goleman is a co-founder of the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (www.casel.org), originally at the Yale Child Studies Center and now at the University of Illinois at Chicago. CASEL’s mission centers on bringing evidence-based programs in emotional literacy to schools worldwide.

He currently co-directs the Consortium for Research on Emotional Intelligence in Organizations (www.eiconsortium.org) at Rutgers University. The consortium fosters research partnerships between academic scholars and practitioners on the role emotional intelligence plays in excellence.
